Welcome to Short Night Art! My name is Brian Harley and I am an award winning filmmaker and mixed media artist.
I mainly create paper and digital collages and the occasional acrylic painting. I studied fine art at Coventry University many years ago and focused on collage, drawing inspiration from the likes of John Stezaker, Richard Hamilton and Hannah Höch.
My work ranges from satirical to lyrical and some of it is just amusing or pretty, I hope.
As a filmmaker, I've been mentored by BAFTA winning film and television producer, Nira Park, as part of a mentoring scheme funded by Creative England and the BFI. In 2020, I completed my first feature film, the documentary, Neilation.
I currently work for the CineCov programme and am the Industry Advisor for the BA/FdA in Digital Film Production at Warwickshire College.
